days since this started, I swear

I can't sleep.

insomnia
why do you plague me now?
what the hell did i ever do to you?
you stupid bitter bitch

my sleeping schedule was so regular
for a while
what a short, sweet while
even without solid rest
i still made it in the morning
turned my face to the sweet sunlight
that poured in abundance

how short lived it was
now all that greets me when i wake
is the dreary, rain drenched sky
purpling over with bruises

at least when the seasons change
to a permanent autumn
i will be able to anticipate what will come next
and there will be no more teasing breaks of sunshine
at least i will know

sleep
when will you come
to take me away?

it's times like these where I truly do wish I had the kindle.
its not the same, though.

the rustling of pages
the texture
the sometimes old smell
covers and numbers

its seriously becoming a lost art.

i just don't understand how people grumble
and whine
about taking in the meaning of a couple sentences

i absolutely love it
everything about it
even weird, dry textbooks

underneath it all.
i am in love

that being the case

or digitize the world
